Monday

I arrived at Red Hat Waterford at around 9 20am. We were given a quick introduction and a tour of the Red Hat office. We were given a few hours to hang out and get to know eachother. We played pool, darts and played wii tennis and golf. We were given free snacks and drinks and at 2 o’clock we were back in the meeting room. We listened to a talk on AGILE and the principals of software development and then started a workshop on building a Mr Potato head. We worked in teams to build the best Mr Potato head and I learned a lot. We worked in teams to build the best Mr Potato head and I learned a lot.

Tuesday

I arrived at the office and we did a stand up, which is a talk about what we did the day before. We then did a short Github workshop, where we created a repository with a log book of what we do during the week and then started a 2 and a half hour python workshop, which had exercises that got progressively harder. We then had our one hour lunch break, where I had my lunch and played some wii golf. We then continued with the python workshop for an hour after lunch. We then did an activity about cracking passwords.

Wednesday

I arrived at the office and did a stand up about the previous day. We did a workshop about a treasure hunt, where we were looking for treasure in the code. We then listened to a talk about the history of computing. We then listened to a talk with the interns about life as a college student. We then had our 1 hour lunch break, where I played some pool and darts. Then we were building a rollercoaster out of straws for two hours, which was a lot of fun.

Thursday

We did our morning stand up. We then had breakfast, which included eggs, rashers, sausages and more. we then listened to an inteeresting talk on AI for an hour and a half. Then we did an activity which involved cycling through images of animals in the wild and identifying them, which was interesting. We then had our one hour lunch break, where i played some pool and darts. After lunch we worked in pairs on a project about sustainability and presented them to the group.

Friday

We did our morning stand up. Then we listened to a short presentation about raspberry pi, showing what it does and how to program it.
