TY WORK EXPERIENCE WITH RED HAT - DAY 1
![]()
The day started at 9:30, where I and about 10 other TY students began our first day at Red Hat work experience. The day started with and intodution to the interns and our instuctors, which led into a small tour of the office. After the tour, Nigel organised a Mario Kart tournament on the nintendo switch, the results were as follows
WINNERS
---
1st - Jordan
2nd - Michael (me!)
3rd - Mazin
4th - Shane
I won every match I played until the very last one where Jordan over took me at the very last second. But afterwards I organised a couple of matches of Super Smash Bros, fortunatly no one else really knew how to play so I always won (ego boost). After that we began some casual matches of Switch Sports, starting with tennis, then going to bowling and chambara. I played a match of pool and absolutly sucked at it, but by then break was over. We were then given a presentation about AGILE principles and then used the information to create some Mr. Potato heads, which was the final activity of the day.
TY WORK EXPERIENCE WITH RED HAT - DAY 2
On the second day of work expeirence for Red Hat, we started with a stand up, where each of us said what we did yesterday. Then, we started working with github and made a log of each day of our work expeirence. They told us how git and github are widly used by programmers to save their projects.
Then we began a python course, I already knew how to do all the things we were being told though so I was kinda bored. After lunch we continued our python course and then took part in a cracking one million passwords course which was easy but interesting.

TY WORK EXPERIENCE WITH RED HAT - DAY 3
The third day of work experience started with another stand up, which was followed by a talk about the history of computing and the different jobs within it from James, the talk was very interesting but was a little boring at some parts. After that we had a workshop about Bash and CLI with Jordan and Filip which ended with a fun treasure hunt game. I was able to find the treasure pretty quickly.

We then had a talk with the iterns about what it was like to work with Red Hat and their experience there, which ended up giving me some good insight. During lunch a played some pool and sucked slightly less but still lost. The day ended with us desperatly trying to make a looping roller coaster using a ball and contruction straws. I wasn’t able to finish before the time limit but I still enojyed the process
